Artboard 4.pngIn mid-June, Mars had the pleasure of hosting Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe at the Mars Global Headquarters in McLean, Virginia, marking the first time the office hosted a Virginia governor. Governor McAuliffe met with members of the Mars family and the Mars leadership team including Grant Reid, CEO & Office of the President; Andy Pharoah, Vice President of Corporate Affairs & Strategic Initiatives; John Donofrio, Vice President, Secretary & General Counsel; and Frank Mars, Mars Symbioscience President. 

During their meeting, Governor McAuliffe was given an overview of Mars’ history in Virginia, diverse portfolio, global business growth, and Mars’ positions on sustainability issues and climate change. Earlier in the year, Mars joined the Governor in Virginia during the announcement of a variety of new regulatory initiatives aimed at reducing carbon emissions and increasing renewable energy in the Commonwealth.

Artboard 4.pngOhio State Officials Visit Mars Petcare in Leipsic

In June, the Mars Petcare facility in Leipsic, Ohio, hosted State Senator Cliff Hite; Leipsic Mayor Justin Barnhart; City Councilman Alan Pingle; John Recker, of the Regional Growth Partnership; as well as aides to Governor John Kasich and Lieutenant Governor Mary Taylor. Mars Petcare provided an overview of the business and its Ohio footprint. Senator Hite was not only impressed by Mars Petcare’s products, but was specifically interested in Mars’ sustainability initiatives.
