Mars Presents Legislative Awards to Members of Congress
In late 2015 Mars’ federal legislative team created an award to recognize Members of Congress whose support our legislative agenda. This fall the inaugural Mars Legislative Awards were presented to three members of Congress: Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman Pat Roberts (KS), House Agriculture Committee Chairman Mike Conaway (TX) and Senator Thom Tillis (NC). These members were recognized for their leadership in repealing a provision of previously passed Farm Bill that was found to be out of compliance with WTO trade rules. Repeal of the law resulted in millions of dollars in savings to Mars.
