Millennials have spoken! Their enthusiastic voices have landed Mars on Fortune’s second annual list of 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials.

Mars is consistently voted as a great place to work by Associates of all generations and our most recent recognition is certainly an exciting one. Mars’ millennial Associates voted Mars as one of Fortune’s best places to work when it comes to pay, shared decision making, and fair promotions. These are considered key elements by our Associates of all ages, and particularly millennials.

stat.pngMillennials, as Fortune defines them, were born after 1981 and constitute the largest generation in the U.S. workforce. In the U.S., the 3,600 millennial Associates make up nearly one third of the Mars workforce. 

As new generations continue to enter the workforce, it has become increasingly important for Mars to provide Associates with opportunities to pursue their personal and professional goals. Below are three characteristics of Mars’ millennial Associates that make Mars a great place to work:

PASSION FOR GIVING BACK: Mars knows how important it is for millennials to give back, which is why we offers 15 hours paid time off for Associates to volunteer through the Mars Volunteer Program (MVP). Within the past year, Associates volunteered 95,000 hours through the MVP and Mars Ambassador Program (MAP) to make a difference in communities around the globe.

FERVOR TO TAKE ON CHALLENGES: Mars recognizes that millennials, and Associates of all generations, desire professional development opportunities and want to try new things. From educational opportunities through Mars University to engaging with unique projects across the company, Mars Associates can experience different countries, jobs, brands and cultures.

DESIRE TO LOVE WHAT THEY DO: Millennials want to be passionate about their work, and they want to work with people who feel the same way.
