A key aspect of the course was to put Associates training and government affairs knowledge to the test by engaging key state and NGO stakeholders on a relevant advocacy issue – Companion Pet Health Awareness, highlighting the importance of providing the proper care to cats and dogs including oral care, preventative care, activity and nutrition.
Mars Associates met with Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam, Deputy Governor/Chief of Staff Jim Henry, House Speaker Beth Harwell, Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Randy Boyd, State Senator Mike Bell, State Representative Kevin Brooks, Representative Glen Casada, Senator Jack Johnson, Tennessee Chamber of Commerce VP Bradley Jackson, members of Nashville Mayor Megan Barry’s staff as well as the Nashville Humane Association and the Nashville Pet Community Center. We are excited to continue working to promote pet health in Tennessee in 2017!
