All Treats, no Tricks at
Mars’s Halloween event in Newark
From choosing the perfect costume to finding the best spots for trick-or-treating, Halloween is all about fun. This Halloween, M&M'S® brought its trademark colorful fun to Newark, New Jersey – and held a two-day Halloween celebration with the launch of the brand's first-ever Halloween themed pop-up store in the heart of downtown Newark.
At an event hosted by recording artist Kelly Rowland, the Pop-up store handed out 15,000 free costumes and free M&M'S® Chocolate Candies to Newark residents. Also joining the opening are Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, State Assembly Members Eliana Pintor Marin, Grace Spencer, City Council Members Gayle Chaneyfield Jenkins, John James and Joe McCallum. “Watch Me” recording artist Silento also made an appearance.
M&M'S also donated $25,000 to the United Way of Essex County to support community-based programs.
"M&M'S is offering the residents of Newark a safe and family-friendly environment to have some fun, and we hope it will be an event this community will remember for years to come," said Mayor Ras Baraka.

Tamera Mowry-Housley Helps Mars Food Get Kids in the Kitchen
Kicking off its fourth annual Ben’s Beginners™ Cooking Contest, Mars Food teamed up with Actress, Mom and Host of "The Real," Tamera Mowry-Housley, to launch its kid-inspired “Dream Kitchen” in New York City on September 25, 2015. The annual Ben’s Beginners™ campaign aimed to help children develop the crucial life skill of cooking in a fun and family-friendly way and to make the kitchen a welcoming place for the entire family.
The one day only “Dream Kitchen” was developed from a combination of ideas submitted by children in Kindergarten through eighth grade from across the United States. The “Dream Kitchen” set up — a large play-area filled with rice grains, a wacky and colorful kitchen set and fun cooking demonstrations for children and families — generated excitement in New York City. In addition to this one-of-a-kind kitchen, the UNCLE BEN'S® Brand offered attendees tips and innovative ways to make kitchens more kid-friendly for young chefs.
